Family Law

In this part of our practice at the Law Office of Matthew K. Simcox, we see the highest and lowest of human emotions – from the high of a new adoption to the agony of abandonment by a spouse.  Because of this, we are sensitive to the emotional needs of our clients.
We are happy to assist you with any of the following family law needs:

  • Divorce
  • Child Adoption
  • Child Support
  • Child Custody
  • Modifications of Prior Orders
  • Protective Orders (commonly referred to as Restraining Orders)
  • Terminations
  • Amicus services
  • Other - just call us to set up an initial consultation

A family court can be very intimidating for someone who doesn’t know the system.  If you don’t have a lawyer but the other side does, then prepare yourself to be railroaded.  Don’t trust them to look out for you.  In the case of a divorce or child custody battle, if you could have trusted the other side, they likely would not be an ex.

Matthew Simcox is a family man.  He is happily married with a daughter and another child on the way.  He understands the importance of family, and hates that families break up.  Matthew believes in reconciliation whenever possible and will counsel his clients in such a way.  But sometimes divorce is necessary, and you can count on him to see that you and your kids sustain as little damage as possible.  Throughout the entire ordeal, always let your kids know that they are loved, and provide them with the greatest measure of stability that you can muster.

There are two ways to practice family law.  One is with honor, integrity, and reasonableness.  The other is by being a bulldog.  There are a lot of family law attorneys who fall under the category of bulldog.  If that is the kind you want, then keep looking.  But if you want a lawyer who can achieve the same results for less money and fewer headaches, then call us to set up an appointment.  Being reasonable and having honor and integrity does not mean we roll over.  Oh, no!  We fight for what’s rightfully yours, but we do so within the confines of a certain code of conduct and within the rules of court.

Hire us and be assured that you have someone in your corner fighting to preserve your rights and property.
